my XP is NTFS and I assume that an Acer Factory pre installed Vista would be NTFS but I will check tomorrow. Also what does not help is that when they booted it from new and finished with the preload of Vista they just renamed the Administrator account instead of creating a new user with admin right...

Have you run the Work with External File Links routine from the Tools menu?? This will show the pathing of all linked media and also if the media is not present it will show an icon with an X thru it. This will enable you to check the location that is in the link. Is it possible to bypass the default of storing custom queries within the All user profile and set a choice of own choosing in a folder in a higher level in the system?? I successfully bypassed the standard location of project files away from the dreaded My Documents area and it works a treat as now...
