Showing Relationship to Root Individual in Reports

Thanks Jane

That is perfect my report now shows
Relationship to Root Individual: great (x6) grandfather of my full name

Now when I print out booklets for my sister I can put her as the root and she will have a frame of reference and it won't boggle her brain so much :)

Thanks again

Showing Relationship to Root Individual in Reports

Hi I am compiling a book and like the idea of showing the relationship to the root invidal in the reports. I have worked out how to do it using the settings option within the report in the book but it just displays in the report I am working on Relationship to root individual: great (x6) grandfather...

Custom Query re Links to Source

Back in the mists of time somehow I managed to create 4 different source records for the 1881 census. I can see how many links there are to each of the four sources but is there anyway to create a query which would give me a list of the people the source has been linked with? The 3 sources I want to...

Backup of Fact Sets, Custom reports

Thanks Tatewise Your reply clarify it for me. The problem was that I lost both computers last year. I ended up with a new PC which I specified that I wanted XP on and then a few weeks later the laptop died and I ended up with a new one wwith Windows 7 on. I still have problems finding things on Wind...

Backup of Fact Sets, Custom reports

Thanks I had read it before and tried finding it again to read it before I posted. Have now bookmarked it and saved the link in a document! I found the right folder and it is saving my custom reports in there but it doesn't appear to be saving the new fact sets. I know that you can export from withi...

Backup of Fact Sets, Custom reports

Hi I notice that when I save a custom report it is saved in the Local Disk >Program data > Calico Pie >Reports > Custom and presumably this needs backing up so that if I had a system crash I could restore these reports as well? The facts set had the same system only the above ended in Calico > Fact ...

Problem with Cause of Death Field

Thanks Lorna and Tatewise

That'll teach me to upgrade before I have too. I was tempted by the book feature and the [evil]

Will just have to hope that Calico fix it before I need to print out any reports. [smile] Do I need to report the problem to them?

Problem with Cause of Death Field

A bit of additional info - The problem occurs when I fill in the address field as well as the cause of death field. As soon as the address is removed the cause of death shows in the reports. I thought it might be that particular address was too long but just typing in a couple of letters in that fie...

Problem with Cause of Death Field

I am having a problem with the cause of death field not showing up in the reports or at least not all the time. I had opened a family group report on grandmother and her parents and noticed the cause of death wasn't showing up above the related notes with the greats. Then noticed it had with my gran...

I don't think that can be achieved.

The best is to Add a Relationship entry to the Main Section Items on the Contents tab.
This interest me. How do I do what you suggest please?

Facts - sort order

I like having the marriage witnesses in a separate fact/field it makes it easy to find them via a custom query. What I do though is record the witnesses in the marriage notes along with all the other detail from the certificate etc and then I insert an individual fact 'Marriage Witness' under the wi...
