Merging 2 GEDCOMs/giving credit to other person
I have kindly been sent a large GEDCOM file of my relations in the Netherlands and will be merging it with mine. I want to give credit to the person in the Netherlands who has done all the work on that side of the family - can I set up a 'Default Source' or suchlike so that when it merges with mine ...

Duplication of individuals
I have imported a gedcom file from the web which has distant relations of mine in it - I have not yet merged it with my own gedcom file. Virtually all of the individuals in the downloaded gedcom file appear to be duplicated within it! Is there any way I can sensibly remove these duplicated individua...

However as I have so many different spellings of the surname (MacGillivray - there appear to be over 50 variants of spelling!), is there a way to change all variants to one common surname, without renam...

Census Entry Utility article link error?
I have clicked the link to http://www.bakery.co.uk/fh/Gedcom_Census_1.exe
in the census entry utility article, and the site I get taken to is a Bakers site, with no mention of FH !!
Is the link wrong, or am I being daft?

How to download Jane's link ';Entering info...
Thank you Jane, a downloadable version would be much appreciated. Would it also be possible for the other links to be made downloadable as well at the same time, or would this involve too much hassle?

I know I am being stupid, but is there any way of downloading our esteemed Jane Taubman's link 'Entering information from a birth certificate' to my hard drive, so that I do not have to run only online?
I think it is a superb demonstration, and would like to refer to it often.[oops]

How to indicate Suspect Data/Information

If I enter all the details, is there any way I can 'mark' the info. I have not yet been able to verify independently,...

Thank you Jane - I take the point about date format and Americans being confused! I will therefore use date format dd/mmm/yyyy to avoid any possible confusion.

Text schemes in diagrams
I am trying to find a list of all codes for text schemes in a diagram, but cannot find one. Specifically I want my diagram to show full names, dates of birth, marriage and death (where applicable) in format dd/mm/yyyy.
Any help greatly appreciated! Thx.
