Re: Editing Profile

After opening the Viewing profile dialogue, use Edit Profile to reach Edit profile dialogue.
Enter one or two boxes, and then scroll down to bottom and click Submit, otherwise nothing gets saved.
Assuming that succeeds, repeat the process with the other boxes.

Re: Editing Profile

I'm not sure what you are saying.
Are they missing when you go to the Edit profile dialogue where they are shown in separate boxes, or when you go to the Viewing profile dialogue where they are listed near the top.
Perhaps a screenshot would clarify things.

Re: Multiple Private Notes in a query

Yes, that is perfectly true for Individual record level Note instances, and may well be a solution for Steve. But it is not a solution in the general case of Note instances attached to most other items, such as Facts , Citations , and other record types, mainly because they are difficult to create a...

Re: FH 32bit or 64bit?

Both those links make it very clear to me that Crossover will support legacy 32- bit Windows apps in the 64-bit Mac OSX . The 32-bit warning will indeed be triggered. We are not able to fix the warning but we are working on a solution which will allow legacy 32-bit Windows applications to continue w...

Re: Deceased/retired Occupation

The Text From Source transcription should be a literal line by line copy of the original document. I like to arrange the layout using newlines and tabs and spaces to mimic the document as closely as is reasonably possible. Unfortunately, FH is limited to plain black & white text all in one font ...

I suspect Steve is putting multiple RN labelled paragraphs in the same Note, rather than multiple Note instances.

Re: FH 32bit or 64bit?

FH is a 32-bit app, which is why it installs to C:\Program Files (x86)\ rather than C:\Program Files\ . I'd be surprised if there is not some suitable workaround as there are dozens of 32-bit apps for Windows. Just take a look at how many are installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\ on any Windows PC. ...

I stand corrected.

A Plugin could do something similar, but it would be more complex than Ron's example.

No, because under the hood they all use the same =Relationship() function.

I use the RG101 2329A 020 42 EDGH 225 format in Publication Information similar to all other UK Censuses. Evelyn, when you say " it is fh that is the problem " presumably you are referring to the Where within Source field being only a single line of text, which is more a GEDCOM issue. If F...

Re: Advice about my own FT

It is advisable to have just one 'extended' family tree. If you pursue the idea of putting your mother's ancestors in a separate tree, then you would also produce another ancestor tree for your G Mother, and another for your GG Mother, and so on for every other wife. If you go for separate trees, th...

Re: quick and easy relation (hopefully useful) plugin

Why do you believe that is better than Tools > How Related that gives multiple relationships and diagrams too?

It is possible to use the =Relationship() function in Queries, etc, with any two Individual records ~ no need to involve File Root.

Re: Deceased/retired Occupation

Yes, record retired Occupations with the word (retired) added. There are good reasons for having a transcript. Some images area almost illegible, or may be in Latin or some other foreign language, so an easily readable version is handy. Textual transcripts are computer searchable, but images are not...

The general point is that there is almost always a way to capture the data in any type of certificate, etc. Firstly, it is captured in the Source record as a literal Text From Source transcript &/or a Media image. Then in an appropriate fact the Date can reflect the 'best information' available ...

I have just copied your script, added the functions rtvProjectTBL & rtvGlobalTBL plus load & save library. It runs just fine, so what is the *** issue? It will help debugging if you make Filename and otbl both local , and also tblRLT temporarily. How many times do we have to repeat that advi...

Here is that same technique applied to the actual Greeks :D
