Re: Descendants Tab
Have you experimented with using the Left Right Descendants diagram instead, it offers a lot more customisation and you can control the number of generations to show on opening and easily change the information shown.

Re: Report subject name and source citations
Quite a few of the plugins which are not updated are mine. If someone wants a specific one they can use the author contact or leave a message. At the moment I am having a very busy time with work as has been the case since my colleague died on his 54th birthday. Please remember all the people on FHU...

Just to clarify, none of the people who have been helping you work for Calico Pie. They are "just" users like yourself.
This site is separate to Calico Pie and not run or funded by them.

Re: Surname prefix (SPFX)
As Mike said you can add any fields you need on the All tab by right clicking on the name. If FH does not import them, but you could probably write a plugin to recreate them. You could then customise the columns on the record window and the property box to include the fields. 2022-06-16_115457.jpg

Re: Places in a FH Project Gedcom file
Place records and facts are completely different things. When you use the Data Reference Tab on the Fact query what you will see are 1. PLAC> Which is a Place record. 2. The Long Lat value for the place record. 3. Map which is the local to fact information. As can easily be seen from the Data Refere...

Re: Places in a FH Project Gedcom file
Rather than use an external program, why not simply use a Fact query with columns for the fields you want to remove highlight the columns and press the delete key.

Re: Places in a FH Project Gedcom file
Family historian stores long and lat against the place records the ones against facts are probably left over from an import, so are ignored by FH for mapping

I use GED explorer as it works well with FH data, including media.

Re: Importing flags from FH tree
Flags are an intrinsic part of the Gedcom file. Can you confirm you are asking about flags? If you look on the all tab for a person are the flags not shown there. Are you actually talking about icons on diagrams based on flags not showing? Did you follow all the instructions here Family Historian Co...

Sorry, slightly off topic, but if you want an easy way to view code, you can install the current Power Toys release from Microsoft and then use the preview pane in Windows File Explorer to view any code including .Bat in the pane.

Yes, it looks like the batch process glitched and it was restarted by the Web server. I am afraid we may have to live with it, as it has not happened for many weeks, if it becomes a regular occurrence I will need to put in some sort of tracking mechanism to save me having to pay Amazon SES twice for...

Re: Issues when directly Importing RM 8 File with Places
I suspect it's something different in the DB for RM8, if you have not done so it would be worth sending Calico a small sample file which causes the problem, because some of your places have come across suggesting there is some subtle difference in the places which have not come across.

Re: Fact icons inside Diagram boxes
Another option: You can't use an icon, but you could use a font, such as Wingdings or similar. Then wrap a font change command around the character you want to use, remembering to condition it on the existence of the field you need by using a text if expression. Then another font change to go back t...

The attached query will list all people with more that one name.
You can select the Name 2 column fields you want to delete and press the delete key to remove them, be careful if you have any people with a 2nd or subsequent name you want to retain.

You must have run the plugin "Create and Update Ancestor and Descendant Counts" to create them, so if you do not want them any more, run the plugin and select the Delete option.

Re: Custom Id
You don't need a plugin a query will do. Write yourself a Query which shows your custom id column. Add a filter to exclude the ones which "begins with" BS. Run the Query. Select the column with the Custom IDs (select the first one and scroll to the end and Shift Click the last one) and press the del...

When time allows I will try and work out an enhancement to submit for consideration based on Helens previous suggestion, the limitation is you can only work with the APIs available from Wind...

Re: Mac/Linux-compatible version of Backup & Restore FH Settings via Windows plugin
fhFileUtils does not provide a substitute for the Code Snippet Directory Tree . I might be missing something important, but does getFolderContents() not offer similar options local sProjectFile = fhGetContextInfo('CI_PROJECT_FILE') local sProjectPath = fhf.getParent(sProjectFile) local sPath print(...

Hint: If you are adding a few regular Sources you can either copy and paste the citation (it has it's own clipboard) or set up an Automatic Source citation using a Prepared citation if you are entering a lot of information from the same source. You can also add your favourite sources to the Favourit...

P.S As a developer, if you want to see how to develop your own plugins any of the ones from the store are in open code so you look and customise the source code if you want to.
