Re: Reports options window
If it is the one I am thinking of:
- create your report FIRST e.g. (Publish > narrative report > individual > select person(s) > OK)
this should produce a report.
The Options button is 4th down on the right of the page.
Yes, seems a bit back to front to create your report THEN choose the options. The advantage is the options (via the apply/OK button) are mostly real time, so it saves starting from scratch each time you use a different option.

Re: Reports options window
Right at the beginning of Chapter 17 Reports at bottom of page 187 it says:
Later, on page 191 it shows the side panel with the Options button, and on page 193 says:
So as Jim says Publish > any Report will open the Reports Window.
1. Click on Family Group Sheet on the Publish menu.
2. A dialog appears with the caption “Select Records”. This is the Select Records dialog (see Figure 78 below). ...
3. The Reports Window appears and displays the Family Group Sheet for the Family of Michael Munro and Catherine Reardon – see Figure 77 below.
Later, on page 191 it shows the side panel with the Options button, and on page 193 says:
Report Options The Options button brings up the Report Options dialog (see Figure 81 below).

Ihave followed youe instrutions but for the life of me I cannot see a any buttons on the right hand side let aloan Options button. See attachment below. It is a pity such a good program is let down by poor basic navigation screen shots. Yes page 194 does show the screen but what it doea not show is how to get it up?

Re: Reports options window
The screen you are showing is the Select Records screen. You have to select one or more records from the left hand side and click the > button in the centre to make them appear on the right hand (selected) side. Then click OK. The Report Window will open showing the report for your selected individuals. The Report Options button will then be seen on the right.

Re: Reports options window
The instructions on Page 187 seem quite clear:
A dialog appears with the caption “Select Records”. This is the Select Records dialog (see Figure 78 below). Like many dialogs in Family Historian, you can resize it if it is too small, and even maximize it if you wish to. The list on the right is the Selection List. If there are any records there already, click the << button to get rid of them. Then select Michael Smith Munro in the list and click on the > button. When you do this Family records for all of Michael Smith Munro‟s marriages (in this case one only, to Catherine Reardon) are added to the Selection List on the right hand side. Click OK.
