Has My Heritage access to my data?

Post by Klaus Yde »

Has My Heritage access to my data and is able to retrieve them?

I have a My Heritage data subscription and has it incorporated in FH. Does that mean that My Heritage has full access to my data and media and can retrieve my data and share them with other My Heritage members?

Kind Regards

No.
For both MyHeritage and FindMyPast all that FH does is send a request for BMD/Census records that match the Individuals in the Focus Window.
Naturally it has to send their Name and BMD data in the request, but that is just the same as if you visit those two websites and perform a search using the same Individual details.
None of the data is available to other users.

There are details of how information is used to get matches here:

Jane, do you know if that new http://www.family-historian.co.uk/aidm page will replace the existing http://www.family-historian.co.uk/autom ... a-matching page in the near future, or will they be linked in some way, or what?

how_to:internet_data_matches|> Internet Data Matches already links to the existing page but should it also link to the new page?

I would be tempted to link to the aidm page as it's more comprehensive.

Ah, yes, I see it now.
Odd that those details are different from the http://www.family-historian.co.uk/autom ... a-matching page.
