FHUG Server Move

Post by Jane »

My ISP is moving my hosting including FHUG to a new server. I don't have an exact date/time for this currently, but it may mean some disruption to access during the process. As soon as I have the schedule for the work, I will update this post.

We hope this will be taking place on Tuesday morning. We expect the site to be down for at least 3 hours.

Dear Jane,
Being dim not sure what the implications are. Do members have to do anything when the change has taken place?

Just spent quite a bit of time being told on 2 browsers that fhug.org.uk was not to be found. Just now went to an old email clicked on a link - and here it is! Guess I hit the right timing.

I too have noticed the FHUG website has been very slow to respond/unavailable for short periods recently.
Whether that is due to preparations for the move, or routine backups, I don't know.
However, the move is scheduled for tomorrow morning according to Jane.

Ann, members should not have to do anything, except note that FHUG will not be available during the move.

When will the Wish List move be completed, because it is not working for just now whether I am logged in or not?
http://www.fhug.org.uk/wishlist/ produces:-

Wish list should be up now.

I think everything on FHUG is over other than the mailing list, but I am waiting on TSO as they put the subdomain in the wrong location. It's made more complex as we are also unravelling the 12 sites I had hosted into separate buckets.

Due to a problem over night I needed to restore last nights 10pm backup, so I am afraid anything posted since then has been lost.
